Confidential Materials Policy

Miami University Recycles! is responsible for the pick up, storage and shipment of confidential materials for Miami University.

Miami Recycles offers a weekly pick up service for buildings, departments or offices that produce a significant volume of confidential materials on a regular basis. These include Hoyt, McGuffey and Campus Avenue Building.

Unscheduled or occasional requests for disposal of confidential material are submitted to the PFD through iService Desk. These work orders are completed as time allows. Large volume clean-out of outdated records can be skidded shrink wrapped and shipped at the same time. This option results in the loss of the file boxes we will return them after emptying.

All confidential materials are secured at the Miami Recycling center until the volume on hand is sufficient for a truckload, which seldom exceeds one month. The current vendor that destroys our material will furnish, on request, documentation certifying that destruction has been completed.
