National Recycling Coalition "Outstanding University or College" Award

The NRC award affirms the success of Miami University in continually expanding recycling programs and its commitment to waste reduction. During the last school year Miami added more items to the list of acceptable recyclable materials, including plastic bags and batteries. Miami now recycles 25 types of materials, diverts 54% of its waste, and reaches members of the surrounding community through 24-hour outdoor collection containers, a county recycling trailer service, and assistance with recycling at a local school. www.nrc-recycle.org/
