Since January 2003, the students, faculty, and staff of Miami University have recycled
Pieces of Paper , Aluminium Cans , and Plastic Bottles	Preventing the waste of Dollars, Kilowatt Hours, and Tons of Greenhouse Gases!!!!!

In 1990 Miami Recycles! was established. That same year, Miami University constructed a Material Recovery Facility (MRF). A MRF is where commingled recyclables are separated from each other and prepared for delivery to a commercial market. This method was proposed and voted as the best practice for addressing Miami's solid waste issues. Miami Recycles has become the official Waste Management Program at the university.

Recycling bins are located in all academic buildings, sports complexes, residence halls and recreational facilities.
