Special Facilities and Building Maintenance – Electric Shop
This team is comprised of nine employees from Special Facilities and one Master Electrician from Building Maintenance. This group is being recognized for their outstanding customer service and their willingness to go above and beyond. The Oxford Relay for Life was recently held in the area around Millett Hall, but because of the sidewalk construction, the site needed to be moved from the usual location for an event this size. It was a tremendous task to prepare for 500+ runners participating in a two-day, 22-hour running event. Thanks to this team, the site was exceptional and well presented. Their customers said this group was extremely easy to work with and they took great pride in their role in the event. The outstanding teamwork and determination shown by this team is another fine example of quality customer service. They are a valuable asset to the department and Miami University.

Larry Beer
Building Maintenance – Multi Trades (Sign Shop)
As a Master Sign Crafter in the Multi-Trades area of Building Maintenance, Larry is being recognized for his outstanding customer service. Larry is always helpful and patient, often going above and beyond what is required of him, to produce quality work for his customers. With the construction taking place on the Western Campus, and the limited access to that area, Larry has been instrumental in providing additional directional signs to help customers find their way. After placing signs around campus, Larry will take time to drive the route to make sure the signs make sense. In order to not interfere with the day to day operations of the grounds crew, he will put the signs in place before the weekend, and then remove them on Monday. Larry’s attention to detail and dedication to his job make him a valuable employee to PFD and Miami University.
